Arrive at Dublin Airport. Depending on time the visitors will stay in Dublin or travel to Wexford. Travel to Kilmore Quay, Co. Wexford, possible accommodation at Hotel Saltees


Friday, June 22, 2007 Wexford

Morning
Meet and Greet with host families (where billets available). Assemble at The Stella Maris Community Centre, Kilmore Quay

Evening
Opening Ceremony – Hotel Saltees, Kilmore Quay
Food will be served followed by official opening and a musical evening. Possible appearance by The Mummers.
 

Saturday, June 23, 2007 Wexford

Fisheries Conference – Stella Maris Centre, Kilmore Quay.
Two Keynote Speakers Only
Suggested Theme “Supports and alternative enterprises for fishing families”.
Keynote speakers followed by facilitated workshops.

Alternatives to the Conference:

  • Boat trip to The Saltee Islands (bird sanctuary) (€15) 4-5h hours
  • Trip to Wexford Town (15 Miles approx)

Lunch: Seafood Buffet – Stella Maris Centre, Kilmore Quay

Set Dancing Comhaltas Ceoltiori Eireann, Dooley’s Hotel, Waterford City. Music & Set Dancing. Full participation by visitors welcome. Finger food.


Tuesday, June 26, 2007 Waterford / Dunhill


Morning
Community Development Conference Education Centre Dunhill.
Theme: “Cooperation between Ireland and Newfoundland communities on specific development projects”. (The aim is to preselect some projects from following range – e.g. Genealogy, Tourism, Enterprise, Heritage, Social Development, Geology (Copper Coast).) Senan Cooke to discuss with conference leader on NFLD side.

Conference Alternatives:
Tours – local farms, The Granary, Waterford Crystal, Fenor Bog, Heritage Seaview Centre, Mini Farm, River Anne Walk, Boat Strand and Wetlands (interested parties) Waterford Crystal Visit

Afternoon

  • Guided Tour of Copper Coast

Exhibition Hurling Match. Workshops & lessons in hurling

Visitors travel from Waterford to St Mullins to arrive by 11a.m.

Afternoon 1200

Field Trips commencing at St. Mullins

  • St. Mullins Guided tour of monuments by Frank Clarke
  • Visit to Heritage Centre
  • Inistioge: Visit Inistioge Film Village and Woodstock Gardens (John Mannion will give a presentation at Inistioge about its links to Newfoundland).
  • Lunch in Woodstock Gardens, Inistiogue
  • Tree planting of Newfoundland Pine in Gardens
  • Museum and garden tour at Woodstock.
  • Return to Graiguenamanagh to accommodation
     

Evening 2000hrs
Dinner Duiske Inn, Graiguenamanagh
Pub Night Graiguenamanagh (Ceoil agus Craic). Possible theatre show.
